Mr. Burns began his career with a large company, building LANs, WANs and a mobile computing force at System Software Associates while finishing his undergraduate studies.

Daniel got his first experience with startup companies when he was recruited by the CEO of Sphere Communications.  He was an early entrant, and developed their Technical Support Center and Sales Engineering Department.  He was promoted and charged with developing the Federal Department, identifying and establishing strategic partnerships and directing product adaptation for the Federal markets.  As a side note, Sphere holds some of the original patents for VoIP.

Mr. Burns progressed into industry consulting as he provided expert advice on VoIP product definition for large corporations. This included evaluating VoIP product lines to provide gap analysis for JITC Certification projects. Daniel also advised Federal, Product Management and Engineering teams on strategies for VoIP products.

Daniel’s position as Senior Product Manager at CIMCO Communications rounded out his experience in the Communications industry.  Hired for his VoIP expertise, Daniel’s development of the company’s two largest and most successful product family releases, VoIP (Hosted and Trunking) and Datacenter.  He created and released “sticky” products through a complete solution strategy by using his expertise and experience in defining product line roadmaps, conducting market research, developing business cases, designing complete solutions, defining core processes and implementing infrastructure. In addition, Daniel maintained current product margins that contributed to achieving company gross margin goals.
